Hot damn! Summer (winter) in the city!

On Sunday, husband I trotted into Southbank to enjoy a long lunch (and a glass or 3 of wine) and a stroll through the markets. Even though its the middle of winter, it felt like a lovely summer day in Melbourne. In fact, there were people sunbathing by the artificial beach. It was so warm that we wore t-shirts and thongs and had the air conditioning on in the car. On the way back to the car, I had a call from my mother in Melbourne - apparently they are having a ridiculously cold winter. Pack warmly, she advised. Perhaps take some extra singlets. It looks like I am going from one extreme to another!
